Synod Assemblies

Synod of the Pacific is governed by fifty two Commissioners elected by the eleven presbyteries within its boundaries.  Each Synod Commissioner is also a member of a Permanent Committee.  Click here for more information about Commissioners and their Committees.

In February, May, and October of each year Synod of the Pacific holds an Assembly of these Commissioners.  Assemblies generally begin with Task Force Meetings on Thursday morning.  A Plenary meeting is held on Thursday afternoon, at which reports are recieved, and new business may be introduced, followed by a worship service on Thursday evening.  Permanent Committees meet on Friday (plus other sessions as needed), and take actions that are within their authority, or recommend actions to the Synod.  A final Plenary meeting is held on Saturday in which each committee reports and brings recommended actions for discussion and action by the whole Synod.
